I remember Monopoly from my youth. We called it Monotony because of the interminable length of game play and how long it took to actually make it around to where you could move. In spite of that, we had a great time playing with all the little pieces. Here’s an interesting bit of news and I think the “Wednesday” referenced was yesterday!
But when I played the new online version this morning I was free from such a driven competitor. Monopoly City Streets, a link up between game owners Hasbro and Google Maps, launches on Wednesday for a four-month period. It enables one, in theory, to buy any street in the world.

Go read the whole piece and maybe I’ll see you in the game.
The game site appears to be overwhelmed. Gee, I wonder why?

I just finished breaking the bank for an hour or so on Monop. Online. I loved the game. Hopefully more will hop on. I need some neighbore to mess with. It’s pointless to get detruction chance cards when your the only one in Morehead. Of course I could try to take out Lexington. It was fun though. They were overwhelmed at first according to the blog entries and such. The blog entry today says that they will do a site reset in 2 days. It should be a real frenzy then.

I just played Monop. Online for a while too. I have purchased streets and built homes. I don’t have any neighbors yet, either, I think I’m going to explore other neighborhoods next, so I can purchase or buy out someone else’s property. lol. It’s going to be a fun online game!

I played for just a short while also. I felt overwhelmed because it wanted me to be so specific about the street names. I of course started out brave and wanted Boardwalk. That is the one everybody seems to want with the board version. It came up with several streets in the U.S. that was titled Boardwalk. I finally got so aggravated that I stopped. I thought Boardwalk was just Boardwalk and only 1 should exist! I will try again later.
